What`s about?

Beatrice, relying on her feminine intuition, acts very tactfully, with a lot of gentleness and diplomacy, trying to suggest to Roby that there can be no more than a friendly relationship between them. In his „madness of love”, Roby doesn’t want to understand and accepts absolutely no advice. He chooses to fight for his love and so to overcome his limits, but Roby puts the whole universe against him. In his desire to speak to Beatrice, Roby imagines a female character, the girl of his heart, to whom he addresses forty-nine thoughts without veil. He cannot always express and convey exactly what he wants to say, he makes many mistakes, he quarrels even Beatrice with unfortunate combinations of words. Despite all the helplessness and suffering, exposed as realistically as possible, Roby only wants to thank her for the man he has become. Does he succeed in this?

My dearest Reader,

I must confess, it is an honour presenting my first-ever book translated into English.

Before I delve into the story behind this great book, let me entice you with its physicality. Close your eyes for a second and imagine yourself having the book in your hands. Please, feel the weight of it, run your fingers over the cover, take a deep whiff of the pages, and marvel at the 49 sketches and pictures within. It’s as if the book is already yours, but the journey it offers is the true treasure. Keep this in mind!

Now, let’s go back in time to the year 2018 – a year that forever changed my life, and one that I will always remember as fondly as a hobbit remembers a second breakfast. It started off unremarkably enough: I attempted a new diet to shed a few pounds and engaged in some physical activity, but nothing extraordinary happened until – some dramatic music please! – a girl entered my life.

I don't consider myself to be a writer but only a simple man who decided to put his ideas and thoughts down on paper.

Oh, this wasn’t just any girl. I fell head over heels in love with her, and it was like a Balrog of emotions awoke inside me. Suddenly, I was filled with a newfound sense of love, determination, and abundance of success. It was as if I had entered a new frequency, one that made me feel alive and ready to take on the world.

And that’s when it hit me – a brilliant idea for a book that demanded to be written. This was my baby, my passion project, and I received it with open arms and a fierce enthusiasm. I knew I had to do it, even though the thought of writing a book was more terrifying than encountering a pack of „wargs”.

I spent the entire year thinking about it, jotting down a few ideas here and there, but by the end of 2018, I wasn’t satisfied with my progress. It wasn’t until New Year’s Day 2019, when I made a resolution to tackle this book with all my might, that I finally got down to business. And boy, did I write! I changed the structure three times, the subject matter more than once, but every day, I wrote, I wrote, I wrote…

And then, God bless the moment, on December 31st, 2019, at the crack of dawn (around 8 to 9 am), I did it! I finished my book! It was such an emotional moment; I cried tears of joy and hugged my laptop like a long-lost friend. And then, to celebrate, I ran around like a wild elf and had a magnificent New Year’s celebration. I told nobody about it.

My book was published five months later in Romanian, but not without its fair share of challenges thanks to the pandemic. Still, I persevered, and the feedback and reviews were nothing short of magical. I even made new friends along the way! Unfortunately, I also lost some good friends because of the book. Their choice, I have nothing to add here.

A few months later, after a hard brake-up, in the summer of 2020, I decided to translate the book into English. It took me more than one and a half year a lot of work, but here we are! And just last year, in 2022, I received my first sample from the Amazon bookstore. The feeling was indescribable, like finding the One Ring or the last slice of pie at a hobbit feast.

My book is a tale of love, emotions, and about listening to your inner voice. It’s about breaking down walls and climbing personal mountains, like Mount Doom or the Misty Mountains. It’s a force, an energy that emanates from its pages and can impact the reader’s life in ways they never thought possible.

Give it a try!

Love,

Cris
